liv. started singing for fun as a child, and made her stage debut in her senior year of high school. Since then, liv. has taken on writing and singing as a release from her normal day-to-day.
liv. strives to depict honesty and genuineness in her music, often writing and singing from a very emotionally raw and charged stance. With a Fiona Apple-Shania Twain-like voice, it's almost impossible to define liv. with any one genre.
Her debut EP Life Vest EP was recorded in her family's barn over the course of four days. The EP was produced by Bryan Elijah Smith and released in November 2020.
In 2021, liv. joined forces with the Montreal-based band, Squeeze Mason for several singles, including “Rachelle (Your Hair’s on Fire)” and “Fishing for the Blues.”
In 2022, liv. started working with Indie-Americana artist and producer Van Plating on her debut album, Young, Dumb, and in Love. Her first full-length record focused on a topic endlessly ripe for reexamination: a really rough breakup. The album dove into the stages of growth and grief during heartbreak. Exploring deftly mature and immature love, “Young, Dumb, and in Love” examined a grim moment in everyone’s life, each song reflecting a different facet of the diamond that is the human heart. It was released in November 2022.
By the end of 2022, liv. was already working on her second full-length record. This record was produced by Annamarie Rosanio, a New York-based multi-faceted instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. With a sentimental determination to capture the essence of realizing one’s self-worth in a relationship that just isn’t right, liv. and Rosanio embarked on a musical journey to work through the boundaries that followed a “situationship.” For nearly a year and a half, liv. and Rosanio worked intimately to create Not Your Friend, the record you’ll hear this year.
